Coosawattee Farm

Coosawattee Farm is a 100 acre farm located on the lower end of the Coosawattee River. The Coosawattee’s head waters begin in Gilmer County and travel through the North Georgia mountains south to create Carter’s Lake and then proceeds west across the edge of Murray County in to the northeast section of Gordon County.
We are Beef Quality Assurance Certified. We have available in late spring a small offering of commercial Angus replacement heifers.
Tony and I love our life and our lifestyle. There's always something going on, but you still have time to relax and enjoy a hike with the dogs through the woods and up the riverbank or certainly find a grandchild running around or riding something you can watch and be entertained. My daughter Sarah and her husband Josh as well as my son Jeremy and his wife Brooke live on the farm and provide support to the farm operation as their work schedules and family time allow. Tony's son, Cale, his wife Lauren and sons, live in Macon. We have four energetic Grandsons and four beautiful Granddaughters that will have plenty to do when they get a little older. We look forward to having them here and experience everything about our farm life.
My father owned and managed the farm since the early 60’s. He and my mom left this world for their heavenly home in 2022 and 2024. We are confident to know we will see them again and many times I still can hear my Dad whisper a bit of advice. I pray that we can continue their legacy in work ethic and in demonstration and sharing of faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
The poultry part of the farm business closed down after the blizzard of 1993 and the poultry house is now used for horse stalls and hay storage. We now purchase the majority of our hay supply so that we can run more cattle per acre.
Our stockdogs are used around the farm. We raise Commercial Angus Heifers and Kathadin/Dorper cross Sheep. We employe LGD Anatolian Shepherd to protect our flock of sheep.
Hope you're enjoying your time getting to know our family. If you're ever in Northwest Georgia drop in... we'd love to show you around. But don’t be surprised if we put you to work doing something I'm sure you will enjoy.
